We were writing in a birthday card for Krista and I asked Lucy what she wanted to say to her for her birthday. "um...I love playing with Jason." Lucy LOVES Jason. Another day Krista asked Lucy if she loved her. Lucy said "Um...my sister loves you..."

One night at dinner, Lydia rolled her head around and said "Delicious!"

Lucy was sitting on the couch with Mike. Lydia ran up and asked Lucy if she would come play. Lucy said "No, I'm just watching football," and turned and watched the game with Mike.

Kelsie made a giant cupcake for Jason's birthday and wrote "happy birthday" on it in sparkly blue icing. Lucy saw it and said, "Why is there tooth paste on the cake?"

We all went to the mall, just to get out and walk around somewhere. Lydia kept saying "Is this the mall?! Amazing!" "This is amazing!" It was like she'd never been to the mall or like she'd never been out of the house!

Last night, the night before Lucy's birthday, Lucy came staggering in my room with squinty eyes at 10:00 and asked, "Is it time to wake up yet?" I said no, and she said, "but it's so hard to sleep..."

Lucy is 4 years old!

She's so smart, cute, funny, creative, helpful, loving... and as you can see...goofy!

 Happy Birthday Lucy!  Don't grow up too fast. We love you so much!

Here is our House!

We are all moved in!. Actually, we were completely unpacked and I  pretty much had it all decorated that same weekend! (And by "we" I mean "I" had us all unpacked. Am I OCD if I wouldn't let Mike help? If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself, right?) We were planning on closing on the 2nd and moving on the 3rd, but our loan officer called and told us we could close a day early! I couldn't have been more ready! So we ended up moving in on Thursday. We fit EVERYTHING in one of these tiny 14' trucks:

It was almost comical how tightly we had that thing packed. I guarantee there was not an inch of space wasted! And we even ditched our old kitchen table (it was about 15 years old and had been through 7 or 8 moves and was totally beat up! It was so gratifying to get rid of that thing.) I wish I had taken a picture! We only had me, Mike, and Jason, packing us up. Caleb came as soon as he could from school. Then, unpacking it was just me, Mike and our one new neighbor helped for a little while. He's probably late 50's and towards the end I was worried that he might be having a heart attack. So we told him we could handle the rest. It was ALOT of work and it was HOT! but we got er done. The only problem with moving in a day early was that our fridge and other new stuff wasn't being delivered till late the next day. So we had no food that whole first day. Thank heaven's Mike's mom brought us dinner that night. We were all sick of eating fast food! (Thanks Terrie!)

We got it on close-out at RC Willey, along with our couches, fridge, and washer and dryer, all on close out or discontinued where we also get a family discount from Mike's brother that works there! Thanks John!

It's SO nice to not have that mess be the first thing people see when they come in my house and not having to tip toe over it all day long. It's out of sight. And there actually room to hang up our dress ups and keep our books on a shelf!

I love how the furniture is pointed at the big empty space on the wall, like they think there's a tv coming any day soon...ha..joke's on them!

So...that's about it.

We are LOVING it here! Our ward is great and there are tons of families with kids at the same ages as ours. We have really good neighbors and I still feel spoiled every day.

Ok, now I have to tell you about all my Thrifty decorations!

This is my new official hobby: "thrifting"! It's so much fun! Searching through loads of crap, finding things that you can't figure out what  they are or where they came from, and then spotting that one awesome thing that you just know will fix up so cute with just a coat of spray paint! About 80% of my decorations are from the thrift store and the rest were either gifts, mostly from Circe, or super cheap finds at Ross or the dollar store. Mind you, I didn't find these all in a week. I've been thrifting these things since about last summer. It's a hobby of patients. Here are my finds:

Door thingies: DI, $4, painted white

Wreath: Circe

Wood utensils: DI, $0.75 each, as is.

Fruit: DI $1 each, painted white

Butterflies: DI & Savers all at different times $0.25-$0.50 each as is (I need to paint them all the same shade of white)

Headboard: DI $8, painted white

Dresser: DI $50 painted white, hardware painted "oil rubbed bronze", added glass nobs.

Wire baby carriage: DI $2 as is

Princess money bank: Savers, $3 as is

Calendar Holder: DI $4, painted black

Calendar: $1 dollar tree

Wicker organizer: DI $7, had original tags on it from Pier One for $32, as is.

Frame: DI $2 painted black.

Art inside: free from the artist Carole Taylor (I did cub scouts with her. She gave me a bunch of her prints she just had sitting around. LOVE her!)

Bag of jelly beans for potty treats: $2, walmart

Metal church tower candle holder: DI $2 as is

Shoe: Saver's $1.50 as is

Shutters: DI $1.50 each for a set of 4 shutters

Wreath: Big Lots, super cheap.

Stool: Saver's $3 potty stool painted black, mod podged paper on top.

Yay! I have a house!

We are moved in!

(Not totally unpacked yet though.)

It's SO great! I feel spoiled and unworthy.

Moving is so much fun!

These are our living conditions. Yes, there is a toddler bed in our front room. Lucy is getting a "big girl bed" when we move, so she has been sleeping on a mattress on the floor and Lydia has to stay in the crib until we move, since they share a room. (I don't even want to try them together without the crib.) I wanted to paint the toddler bed before Lydia started sleeping in it after we move.

There are boxes in every nook and cranny.

One thing I will miss is my awesome neighbors.

This guy lives across from us. Apparently his mower is broken, because he has to pull it backwards behind his homemade ATV.

I can't believe we are finally getting out of an apartment. It's been over 7 years and 5 apartments! The good thing...I'm REALLY good at packing and moving by now. (also, thanks to my mad box making skills picked up from working at The Rag Man)

So, we're out of here! Wish us luck!

Baby Cows!

We stopped and fed the baby cows that we always see on the way to grandma's house. The girls were so excited to feed them until they saw all the flies buzzing around the cows heads. Then suddenly it wasn't so fun.  But after we left Lucy said, "I think those cows love me. They are so sad I'm not there. We should go back so they aren't so sad."
