Happy Birthday Lucy and Anna!

We had a combined party for Lucy and Anna on Sunday. They both got these carts from Grandma Mathis. It has been the best toy we have had! So many things to entertain her all in one package! Thanks Grandma!

Happy 1st Birthday!

We only had one day at home after the hospital before her birthday. I'm just glad we weren't in the hospital for her birthday. You can still kinda see the dark eyes and peely skin, but she's doing better. She had fun playing in her cake, but didn't really like getting messy. She got a doll, some finger puppets, and a book for her birthday.

So after we went to Gradner Village on Friday, I called the Dr. and took Lucy in later that afternoon. She was very lethargic and her face was really gray around her eyes and nose and mouth. She looked REALLY bad. Her pediatrition did some tests but couldn't tell what was going on, so she said to come back tomorrow if it looked worse. It was worse so we went back, and they told us we'd better take her up to Primary Children's Emergency. So we drove her up to the U and they got her checked in. She got looked at by about a half a dozen doctors and had about the same amount of tests done. She was sure a trooper. She just let them do their thing.

They never could figure out what was going on, all the tests they ran came up negative. The discoloration turned red and spread all over her little body. She looked like she had been dunked in scalding water. Lucy and I had to stay in the hospital from Saturday till the next Tuesday. It was aweful! Lucy wasn't eating well and had diareah from all the medicine they were pumping through her IV. I couldn't sleep with all the beeping and nurses coming in and out. Lucy handled it so well though.

We were able to walk around the hospital, and they gave her some toys to play with. We had some visitors come, and we told our families that we were expecting another baby! What great timing. I was just barely starting to feel a little sick.

Finally they found that she was getting a little better, so they sent us home with some major antibiotics for her to take. They never did decide what it was, but she was improving. After a couple days her skin started to peel off like a sunburn. She peeled from head to toe. It was weird. And scarry. But she recovered.
