The Big Eye Exam

Lydia had to go in for an eye exam under anesthesia. We had to be a Primary Children's to check in at 6:00 and the procedure wasn't till 7:30. Lydia couldn't have anything to eat that morning and I thought it was going to be a really bad experience with tired screaming child, but Lydia was a trooper! She was just so interested in all the new things around her it didn't even phase her. Then I was worried about how she was going to deal the the anesthesia, and how long it would take her to wake up from it, but they brought her out and she was bright eyed and sucking down a bottle they gave her. She really did good, and the Dr.'s found what they thought it was. Persistent Fetal Veinosis, which is just a left over vein on the back of her eye from when she was a fetus. It shouldn't ever be a problem, but they just wanted to check it out. We have to go back in for a re-check, just to make sure it's not going to change or grow, which they don't think it will. So...good news. Our bright blue eyed girl is just fine. We weren't too worried about it after talking to Mike's brother Jim (an Optometrist). Thanks for all your prayers for her.
(What is it with our kids and having to go to Primary Children's before their 1st birthday?!! At least Lydia's was planned and not a freakish rash like Lucy. )
