Dutch Christmas

We had Dutch Christmas last weekend. Every year my grandma teaches us a new dutch word or phrase that we have to tell her as a password before we can go down stairs to open presents.

This year is was: (NOT spelled right in dutch, I'm sure) "I'm ya leva lassie" which means "I'm your lovely little girl" or something close to that... (The boy cousins had to say: "I'm yur stouta youngin" or "I'm your tuff little boy")

They both got cute little outfits and little gifts...

...but I think the best part is the chicken noodle soup with cheese and bread sticks! YUMMY!!!!!

SNOW!

Ever since last winter, all through the summer, Lucy kept bringing up snow angels. She's been wanting SO bad to make a snow angel. Well, she finally got to!

It's hard to see, but she has a huge grin on her face!

Lydia just wanted to help shovel. And eat the snow. Her face was bright red and chapped from shoving show in her mouth for an hour!

Gingerbread House and an Anatomy Lesson

After Thanksgiving dinner we made ginger bread houses. It was really fun and REALLY messy!

(That's Krista's house in the picture. She put up some stiff competition...)

It may look like Mike's helping make the house...no...just came see what was going on during half time. I did all the hard work... Lucy and Liddy helped put the candy on. I think more got in their mouths than on the house.

This is Lydia's anatomically correct gingerbread woman. She did this all by herself, totally on accident. I was watching her and she just plunked em on there, I swear! Then Lucy saw it and said in an embarrassed whisper "Look mom...boobs"

After we finished ours, Lucy went to help Anna finish her house. Every square inch of that house was plastered with candy! They really worked hard on it! It looked...like two 4 year olds decorated it! It was actually really cute though!

A Rainbow!

We saw this rainbow out our window a couple weeks ago. It was HUGE. I couldn't get all of it in a picture. The girls were so excited about it, we had to go take a picture.

(They both look like they have to pee, but really, they were cold from being  in the night air just in their jammies and just having had a bath.)

I wish I could have gotten a better picture. It was really pretty!

"Sinter Clause Kapuncha"

Our ward is doing a video of people saying something in a foreign language for part of the christmas party. So I had Lucy sing this little christmas song we learned at our family Dutch christmas.

It says:

 "Santa Clause, dear,

put one in my stocking,

put one in my shoe,

Thank you ,Santa Clause!
